In Malaysia, there are a lot of banking services. Students from abroad can open bank accounts at many of the local and international banks in the country. Our student advisors are always available to help you open a bank account if you are unsure about procedures or requirements.

Insurance

Malaysian law requires international students to have an insurance when they stay in the country. Any claims that you may need to make, CLC have advisors who will help. Your tuition fees have insurance fees added to them.

Clothing

What should should we bring? In a year, Malaysia can get hot. If you want to avoid getting sunburn, wear loose fitting clothes that cover your shoulders or skirts that drop below the knee which will help you keep cool. Make sure you wear clothes that are light. If you don't wear revealing clothes on the streets, you will be more comfortable. 
If you're going to visit mosques and temples, you should wear a skirt and have a scarf over your hair. You can borrow scarves and robes from places of worship that are popular with tourists, such as the Putrajaya and Jamek Mosque in Kuala Lumpur. If you're visiting a place of worship, make sure you wear shoes that are easy to slip on and off.

Drinking water

Some studies show that tap water in Malaysia is not as safe as it could be. The government advises against consuming tap water, fountain drinks and ice cubes. Link.

Most people boil the water in their homes to make sure that the water is safe for drinking. There are many brands of mineral water that people can choose from. As the sun is strong throughout the year, the government recommends drinking plenty of fluids to replace salt loss and to avoid dehydration.

Malaysia has some of the most delicious food in the world. From street stalls to international restaurants, there are many eating places to choose from. Food hygiene is generally satisfactory. You should make the most of your time in Malaysia to experience the different types of food. Local food can be either Malay, Indian, Chinese or Punjabi and they all have different styles and tastes. There is a wide range of international food, from Arabic to Mexican.
